On some fixed points of integral type contractive mappings in parametric b-metric spaces

Abstract

In this paper, we establish a new fixed point theorem for nonlinear mappings satisfying an integral-type contractive condition in complete parametric b-metric spaces. The fixed point theorem proved herein extends well-known results of the theory of fixed points. It also generalizes various existing fixed point theorems in metric as well as b-metric spaces. The classical fixed point theorems for Banach, Kannan, and Chatterjea contractions of integral type are derived as corollaries from the main theorem as special cases. To validate these results, several illustrative examples are also provided.
